Contact Information:

Pawnee Tribal Development Corporation (PTDC) is the economic development arm of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma. The purpose of the corporation is to promote economic development, by creating employment opportunities and income for the Pawnee Nation.

Established as a separate entity, the corporation is wholly owned by the Pawnee Nation.  The Articles of Incorporation were written in accordance with the Pawnee Nation Constitution, By-laws and the Corporate Charter for the operation of business. The Articles of Incorporation establish a Board of Directors and a set of “formal provisions that exist for separation of government functions from business operating decisions.” By establishing PTDC, the Pawnee Nation provided itself reciprocal protection by insulating the Pawnee Nation Business Council from direct liability for the business operations of PTDC, while at the same time protecting the assets and business operations of PTDC from the instability of political influence.

The corporate Board of Directors is tasked with oversight of policies, management, financial reporting and development for the organization. The actions of the PTDC Board of Directors are subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the PTDC Articles of Incorporation, the legal foundation for the entity.

The corporation owns and operates all of the tribally-owned businesses:  StoneWolf Casino & Grill, StoneWolf Deli, StoneWolf Travel Plaza and the Trading Post Casino, Trading Post retail and deli.

This organizational structure allows corporate-level management to implement a company-wide strategy; and effectively allocate capital and resources amongst its subsidiaries enabling the corporation to maximize the economic impact of tribally-owned businesses by reducing overhead expenses for each entity.  Although PTDC is a growth-focused business with the key objective of maximizing profit, of equal importance is employment creation and growth.

In 2010, the corporation paid more into the tribe than any previous year.  The total amount of payments through the end of 2010 for profit distribution with the tribe, assessments, licenses, rents and sales taxes totaled $856,539.  This amount represented virtually all of the operational income for the corporation in 2010.
